ETM Marks Its Twelfth Anniversary

Developing Success, One Product and One Year at a Time
CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA — (November 12, 2013) — ETM, developer of WingsPlus for statutory financial reporting and tax compliance — and UPExchange for unclaimed property reporting — marks its twelfth year in business this month. ETM established its market position with WingsPlus, a cloud-based suite of applications for annual and quarterly statements, integrated state financial filing forms, premium/municipal taxes, risk location, portfolio accounting and reporting, and compliance calendaring. It expanded its multi-industry presence with UPExchange, its cloud-based system for unclaimed property reporting, with which it earned the exclusive endorsement of the National Association of Unclaimed Property Administrators (NAUPA)(*).
“We’re not sure what’s more gratifying,” said Layton Olson, ETM’s CEO, “celebrating 12 years of unbroken success, even through some economic downturns — or developing a product as successful as UPExchange as part of our recent history. Either way, we’re extremely grateful for the support of our ever-growing customer base, even as we depend on their input to continually enhance our existing products and to continue to develop new ones. We couldn’t do it without them, and they give us much for which to be proud.”

ETM Drops Fee for Online Reporting of Unclaimed Property

Good Faith, Loyal Customers, Economies of Scale Inform the Decision
CEDAR RAPIDS, IA — Jun 11, 2013 — ETM, developer of UPExchange for unclaimed property reporting — and WingsPlus for statutory financial reporting — has waived the transaction fee it was formerly charging for online reporting of unclaimed property. The flat fee of $7.95 per transaction remains in place for online payment remittance to those states that accept online payments.
“We never expected we’d be happy to stop charging for any of our services,” said Layton Olson, EVP at ETM. “But this is a situation in which we want to return the favor to the thousands of UPExchange users who’ve fueled our explosive growth. When we introduced UPExchange, we believed it was the proverbial better mousetrap with significant potential. We had no idea it would catch on as it did. Waiving the online reporting fee is a pleasure given the market’s response.”
UPExchange helps companies that hold unclaimed property automate their reporting in accurate accordance with state-sponsored regulatory changes. To meet end-user requirements, it’s accessible from anywhere with just a browser and can be configured with all the fundamental capabilities unclaimed property professionals expect — importing unclaimed property records while checking for errors, calculating dormancy requirements by state by property type, producing search letters, documenting due diligence activities, creating reports to each states specifications, and more. And with the combination of SaaS delivery and intuitive usability, many holders are up and running on UPExchange in as little as 60 seconds. More than 18,000 holders of unclaimed property now use UPExchange.

ETM Introduces WingsPlus DB Connector

New App Makes WingsPlus Database Available in Real Time
CEDAR RAPIDS, IA — Jun 4, 2013 — ETM, developer of WingsPlus for statutory financial reporting — and UPExchange for unclaimed property reporting — announces the availability of the WingsPlus DB-Connector, a new API that provides real-time access to data in the WingsPlus database to meet a wide variety of organizational needs. The Wings DB-Connector allows data to be gathered once, then used in many different ways without having to re-create or re-key it.
“This is another way for WingsPlus users to save steps, time, and money in the production of statutory-financial and tax-compliance forms and filings,” said Layton Olson, EVP at ETM. “Now, all of the data that is cross-populated and cross-checked in forms, filings, and statements is available in real time for any and all other purposes. The value of the WingsPlus DB-Connector extends well beyond annual and quarterly statements.”
The WingsPlus database aggregates data from multiple source systems, warehousing it for the production of statutory, tax, and financial form regulatory filings. It provides a single, common data model for consistently presenting information for the related data regardless of the data’s source.
For users, when the WingsPlus DB-Connector is used in combination with WingsLink, ETM’s proprietary Excel add-in, live data can be used for developing spreadsheets to be used for custom cross-checks, RBC forecasting, board and rating agency reporting, and projection modeling. It enables on-demand custom report creation to allow a multitude of stakeholders to make use of annual statement, premium tax, and state financial filing forms data in any way desired.
IT can create real-time links directly to the database with the WingsPlus DB-Connector API, increasing interoperability with other financial and analytical applications — and creating opportunities for new product/report development with automated data verification, reconciliation, and synchronization.
