ETM Puts 25 States Into Production on UPExpress

Online, Electronic System for Unclaimed Property Reporting and Payment Remittance
CEDAR RAPIDS, IA — Oct 9, 2013 — ETM, developer of UPExchange for unclaimed property reporting — and WingsPlus for financial reporting and tax compliance — has now connected 25 of the 50 United States to UPExpress. (The U.S. states account for 50 of the unclaimed property reporting jurisdictions that also include the District of Columbia; the Canadian provinces of Quebec, British Columbia, and Alberta; the US Virgin Islands; and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.) UPExpress is the industry’s first-ever standardized, online, electronic system for creating and submitting unclaimed reports — and for remitting unclaimed property payments — in one online session.
“Companies that use older technology for creating holder reports want the convenience and accuracy of online reporting, too,” said Layton Olson, CEO of ETM. “Participating states are realizing the operational advantages of automating this aspect of compliance, suggesting we’ve created the right tool for the right job at just the right time.”
While online reporting and payments is inherent in UPExchange, ETM’s holder reporting solution, UPExpress makes it possible for holders using virtually any holder reporting software (HRS Pro, Tracker, etc.) to take care of all of their multi-state reporting in one, simple, online session.
This is a complete list of the states that have adopted UPExpress to date, including the functions available for holders to use:

Unclaimed Property Reporting Is Transformed for Holders and for States
CEDAR RAPIDS, IA — Oct 1, 2013 — Just three-and-a-half years after launching UPExchange — its acclaimed system for unclaimed property reporting and the only offering of its kind on the market that is available from the cloud — ETM now has more than 20,000 holders of unclaimed property subscribed. In addition, ETM now has 24 states accepting online, electronic reports and/or payment remissions for unclaimed property, with more states presently in implementation.
“Given the response from the holder community and the states, we’ve clearly started something,” said Layton Olson, CEO at ETM. “Online reporting fills the need for speed, accuracy, cost-effectiveness, and compliance. To have bridged the historical gap between holders and their reporting jurisdictions is something that makes all parties to unclaimed property reporting transactions feel very good, indeed.”
UPExchange™ is a web application that makes unclaimed property compliance simple. To meet end-user requirements, it’s accessible from anywhere with just a browser, and sends reports and payments to multiple states entirely online.
